The weekend in Sept. Kelly, our best friend Brian and I went to NYC to see Einstein on the Beach was as good a weekend there as I ever had. In addition to Einstein, Devotchka, one of our favorite bands, was playing at the Bowery Ballroom in the East Village. If you’ve never been there try and make it sometime. It’s a small, 500 person club and was so intimate.
The next day we headed over to MoMA to see the exhibition “Quay Brothers: On Deciphering the Pharmacists’s Prescription for Lip Reading Puppets,” the first ever retrospect for the Quay’s. Instead of trying to describe their work I’ll let these pics I took tell the story. NOTE: These images are all of small scale sets they meticulously craft for their animations.
After those two shows we then got ready for Einstein, which has it’s own post that you can read here.
